21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa
At the tip of this cape, which juts out into the Sea of Okhotsk, lies a black-and-white lighthouse that has stood for more than 100 years. This picturesque spot in Abashiri is famous as a location used in films and TV commercials. It has experienced a recent surge in popularity thanks to a visit from a well-known Japanese pop group. To the north is the magnificent Sea of Okhotsk. To the east, there are superb views of Mount Shiretoko visible in the distance. From spring to summer, the grasslands are covered in flowers and greenery, overlooked by beautiful starry skies at night. In winter, the spot is also known for its marvelous views of the ice floes.
